What is Tension Release Exercises ("TRE")?

  • Tension Release Exercises (TRE) enable a person to enter into soft, natural and controllable movements of stretching, shaking and shifting that support the body in finding easy and natural ways to release old, stored tensions in muscles, fascia, as well as those in the mind and emotions 


  • TRE helps the client to find their way back to the innate intelligence within the body - that which already knows how to release any and all tensions within ourselves, we have just become habituated to suppress it!


  • TRE is a simple yet very powerful embodiment practice that can transform a person’s internal experience and ‘perceived suffering’ in life with deep and lasting effect 


  • It is a natural way of learning how to listen and tune to the inner signals of the body and find the confidence and ease to safely follow along with this simple yet profound practice

  • Trillium's inner calm combined with her extensive experience creates a safe and relatable space where the nervous system can regulate and relax enough such that with her gentle guidance, the client finds their way into a practice that is safe and easy to use


  • Trillium’s approach is to empart easy-to-follow instructions to ensure that the client can learn to embody and use the method for self-practice and confidently use it in a 'home setting' as quickly as possible


  • Through regular use the TRE practice, each person finds a way to peel off the layers of previously accumulated life-imprints, traumas and tensions, and eventually learn to use it spontaneously in daily life for 'in-the-moment' release 


  • Trillium facilitates TRE both in private session and group settings, in person and online and she hosts one-day workshops where participants can deepen their understanding and embodied sense of the practice 


  • Trillium is committed to offer participants Q&A follow-up, ongoing 'after-support' and inspirational encouragement for a more regular practice in daily life

Trillium's TRE Journey

  • Trillium first started experiencing ‘tension release’ occurring spontaneously in her own body over 30 years ago, whilst attending energy training intensives at the 'Kairos' and 'Shen' healing energy schools

 

  • As a large volume of energy was sent through her body by the teacher, the body started shaking and releasing naturally by itself and she spontaneously entered into advanced yoga asanas, guided by her own body's inner wisdom


  •  Trillium also had inner visions and ‘past life experiences’ appearing within.  She knew that whilst it may look strange from the outside, she could feel how intuitive and natural it felt for the body to be allowed to release tensions in this way  


  • As this natural way of releasing continued, Trillium deepened her internal study as well as learnt about the scientific and experiential discoveries generated through the 'Polyvagal Theory' work of Steven Porges and the application of Trauma Release Exercises - “TRE”  


  • By combining her personal and internal experience with those studies, she has gained a deeply rooted understanding and command of the practice
